Backyard barbecues, so American. Here are the best Pinterest Pins for
creating a special get together outside! Some might say they are Bar Be
CUTE!
Tablescape: This one I loved. I bought a huge roll
of red and white checkered plastic and it has come in handy countless
times. I like that it is versatile, made the ketchup and mustard accents (get them at the 99 cent store)
and silverware holders out of it, and I can throw it away when I'm
done! Best part... use a handy Micheal's 40% off coupon and save some dough! Mix that with the printables and Bob's you uncle! Click Here for the pin.
Drink: My favorite childhood drink, a Shirley
Temple! What I love about this version is the addition of orange juice
at the top for effect AND that the cherries really make it look special.
For kids keep it clean and for adults mix it up with flavored rum or
vodka to make it a Dirty Shirley Spritzer! Click Here for the pin.
Gourmet Hot Dog Stand: So cool! Reused a tier I had
made from the dollar store bin segment! Stack the pieces of the dogs on different
tiers. For the real deal I might put the dogs on one level and the buns on another. Include the larger sides, lettuce, tomato and onion, as well for
easy access. I love this ideas because 1. I do not eat hot dogs or any other processed meats. 2. I love veggies 3. I really like all veggie sandwiches that are unique. Click Here for the pin.
Muffin Tray Sides: Why I didn't think of this first
I don't know! The clean up was minimal and the presentation was cool!
The sides I used were; ranch, salsa, Frito's, cocktail sauce, green bell pepper, steak
sauce, cheese, roasted bell pepper, barbecue sauce and pickles! Possible
side options have no limit! Click Here for the pin.
Watermelon on a stick: Quick and simple. Cut the
watermelon into quarters and then make into nice triangle slices. Take a
thick, serrated steak knife and slice the rhine about an inch long.
Interest the steak knife safely into the watermelon about three inches.
Once all the slices are pre-cut, put the wide ice-cream size sticks into
the slices. Click Here for the pin.
Waffle S'mores: Love this! For added pizzazz I put
the fillings into mason jars. Stuff the waffle cones with the goodies.
Wrap the entire cone in foil. Put on medium heat grill for 5 minutes,
unwrap the opening of the cone only and let marshmallows toast for 3
minutes or until brown. Eat and enjoy! Click Here for the pin.
Lemon Center Piece: I wish I could have done what
the pin said. Instead I sliced up two lemons really thin. mixed them up
in the candle holder and added water to see them rise. NEXT TIME I will
put cherries on the bottom and then the lemon and added water. Click Here for the pin.
I hope you earn high grill marks from your friends with the Bar Be Cute pins!

Pinterest Interest - Coconut Oil
Move over Olive Oil. There is a tropical oil making her way into pantries and beauty shelves everywhere and she's a tough nut to crack. Welcome... Coconut Oil.
With versatility in both form and uses, coconut oil is mixing herself up in everything from cakes to cuticle cream. It seems our endeavor for the "one stop shop" as turned in to "one oil for all". Pinterest, of course, is on the forefront of pushing coconut on my skin and in my kitchen.
Before I get to my Pinterest Interest, let me tell you why this crazy stuff fascinates me.
1. It changes form. Refrigerator = hard ice cream like consistency. On my cool bathroom shelf = thick custard consistency. Looking down from the top shelf of my kitchen cabinet = 80% clear liquid to 20% white molasses consistency. CRAZY!!! This comes into play when cooking. Measure out the oil IN LIQUID FORM ONLY. I made one thing months ago and found of the hard way that all forms of the oil are not equal in size.
2. I can hardly taste it. Maybe because I really like the taste of coconut in general I don't taste it much in my cooking. however, I do like that the flavor is subtle, because I am a gal of substitutions and when I opt of canola oil or vegetable oil I can't taste anything different.
3. My face likes it. I am allergic, as my family and friends will tell you from my swift Mystique like full body transformation into Allergectra (she goes from normal to a severe allergic reaction in seconds), to almost everything, plants included. Coconut oil... NO REACTION!
4. Good price points are out there. CAUTION. You must shop around for the deal. Costco, Sprouts and Trader Joe's are the stores to shop.
Baking
No Bake Homemade Chew Granola Bars - I did half of the recipe because I didn't have enoough oats on hand. Good heavens are these yummy! Since I cut down the recipe I used an 8x8 pan instead of a cookie sheet.

Coconut Oil Banana Bread - The real name has "Pineapple" before it. I am not a big fan of pineapple in bread. However, the recipe clearly stated my favorite word in baking "substitutions" AND they listed options. I went for the frozen blueberries (they were in my freezer). Side Note: this recipe froze really well!
Chewy Chocolate Chunk Coconut Oatmeal Cookies {Made with Coconut Oil} - These were interesting. This is the second time I made cookies with C. Oil and they were really fluffy. Tasted just fine, but they were not "flat" as picture. In the bottom of the original post the blogger said to cut the flour down for more of the "crisp" cookie look. Next time I shall try that.
Beauty
Body Scrub - Making this was so easy! I chose the salt way and it was great! Mushed it together in a sandwich bag poured it into a min mason jar, stuck it in the fridge to congeal and poof. Salt Scrub for my tootsies.
Under Eye Cream - AVID BELIEVER. As a dessert dweller I am obsessed with moisture in my skin. I felt a difference in my skin after using this. It is a little "sticky" at first, but in the morning my face absorbed it. Felt baby soft. Side Note: To keep my skin hydrated I always wash my face first before applying anything, lotion my entire body, chug 25-30 sips of water every night and take a fish oil pill every other day. This routine has taken be YEARS of trial and error to get to.
Makeup Remover - What a life saver. The hardest, "water resistant", "covers up scars", "24 hours of staying power" is no match for "Organic Coconut Oil. I will admit the mascara is worthy competetor, but in the end the nut did not crack. ( like I did writing that awful joke)
Coconut Lotion Bars - SILICONE MUFFIN TRAY. Get this. Bed Bath and Beyond for $13. Beeswax is hard to find. Beeswax sticks to everything. Beeswax is WATER RESISTANT aka does not wash off. I liked the final product and it was fun to make... once. If you love it make it again, but although I liked what came out sweet heavens was this a mess I am just not willing to clean up again. The tray saved this project. Get the tray.

Pinterest Interest, Dollar Bin Pins
Candle Sticks: not just for wax and wicks. Candle sticks are versatile in many uses and can add your DIY projects.
Vanity Storage: Purchase a feminine looking plate set, one small one big. Use PLASTIC plates so that the glue adheres to the surfaces. place the larger plate on the bottom. Glue the candle stick base to the plate. BEFORE gluing, use a ruler or protractor to find the center and mark where your candle stick should go.Let glue dry before adding top tier plate. Click Here for the PIN
Dessert Tier: Same steps as before, but add on another tier. For this craft I went a little different with plate selection. Three different sizes were a little more hard to find. Target had a wonderful selection on CLEARANCE. I tried to mix three colors, textures and sizes that all go together. Click Here for the PIN
Mason Jars: Get these at the DOLLAR STORE! Dollar Tree and Dollar General have them in different colors, sizes and with a handle or no handle. For Function I would do get the clear Kerr jars with a top that can pull a part. Click Here for the PIN
Girl Gift: Seriously I use this gift idea for everything! Michael s has FANTASTIC items to go in the bag. USE A COUPON to shop at the store and get things on discount. Here is what I include in the gift: Hand Soap, Hand Sanitizer, Sleep Mask, Manicure/Pedicure set, Hand Lotion and a special addition. These make great bridesmaid, new mom, bachelorette, best friend, birthday, mother's day and get well gifts. Stock up on the staple items when they go on sale!
Decor
Go to the dollar bin or dollar store to find: table clothes, center pieces, streamers, festive vases, unique touches AND Balloons!
The party I throw every year is a Crawfish Boil!

Pinterest Interest – For the Home
Here are the favorite Pins of my "For the Home" board.
- Super simple to make! This pinner has a great way to keep the sink smelling fresh. Salt, Baking Soda, Dish Soap, Lemon Juice and Lemon Zest and sweet scented sink here I come. No baking just making and putting in container. MUST DO!
Bathroom/Powder-room
- Put all your little color somethings together! I have a TON of little nail polishes and there is a perfect solution to make use of their size and color. Find a cute glass container that fits the theme of your room. Take all the little goodies and give them a new home! I prefer containers without a top for easy grab and go use. To make the containers stand out scour a second hand store for vintage pieces that are a perfect match.
In Home Spa
- Make a spa in any room you want. Combine the elements of earth, water, fire and air into one serenity accent piece. Choose one glass fixture to make your creation. Place stones at the bottom, secure a artifical flower in the mix, add water to the desired height. Place a candle in the water and wait for it to float. When ready, light the candle and expereince the elements of peace in whatever room you are in.
Picture Perfect
- This pin allows for multiple options in hanging your photos in the same space. Any size frame with shelves without, long or short, big or small you name it there is an option. A great pin if there is a wall perfect for frames of the family and friends!
